The Jazz Composers Series: re-arrangements & nu-compositions
The Nu-Art Series presents a weekly program of music performances.
Each week, local, regional and nationally recognized professional
musicians who specialize in small ensemble creative and improvisational
music will perform two sets. One set will feature the musical compositions
of historic jazz figures such as Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Eric
Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Julius Hemphill
Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Andrew Hill, and many others. The
other set will feature the featured musician’s original compositions.
The Nu-Art Series' newest program, The Jazz Composers Series, will
attract a wide range of people who enjoy and celebrate creative and
